Frequently asked questions
Welcome to NeuroCompass’s frequently asked questions. We understand that beginning an assessment or therapy can bring up many questions, and we’re here to provide clear and comprehensive answers. Our aim is to make you feel confident and comfortable as you consider taking this important step towards your well-being.
What are the top questions people ask before booking an assessment or therapy?
Many individuals come to us with similar questions and concerns, and that’s perfectly normal. Here are some of the most common questions people ask before they decide to book an appointment with a psychologist at NeuroCompass:
- “Do I really need an assessment — or am I overthinking this?”
This is a significant concern for many. People often wonder if their experiences are severe enough to warrant professional attention, or if they are simply stressing too much. They might question: “Maybe this is just stress?”, “What if I’m exaggerating?”, or “What if nothing is actually wrong?”. What they're really asking is: “Is my experience valid enough to take seriously?”
- “What actually happens during the assessment or therapy?”
Uncertainty can create hesitation. Individuals want to know what to expect: Will it just be questions? Is it structured or vague? Will I feel judged? What they're really asking is: “Will this feel safe, professional, and worth it?”

- “Will I actually get clear answers — or just another opinion?”
Many people have sought help before. They worry: “What if I leave more confused?”, or “Will this be another generic explanation?”. What they're really asking is: “Will this finally make sense?”
- “What if I get diagnosed — what happens next?”
A diagnosis can feel uncertain or even intimidating. People think: “Will this change anything?”, “Will I be stuck with a label?”, or “What do I do after receiving a diagnosis?”. We understand these concerns and are here to guide you through every step, ensuring clarity and support.
What important things should potential clients know about how NeuroCompass works?
Starting an assessment or therapy can feel like a big step. Most people come with questions, uncertainty, or even doubt. That’s completely normal. Our role is to make the process clear, structured, and grounded from the very beginning.
A clear and structured process
Nothing here is vague or improvised. You will know what each step involves, what we are assessing or working on, and what the purpose of each stage is. You are guided through the process — not left guessing.
You are not judged or labelled
Many people worry about how they will be perceived. At NeuroCompass, you are not reduced to a diagnosis, you are not judged for your difficulties, and you are not expected to “perform”. You are understood in context.

Depth over speed
This is not a rushed, one-size-fits-all service. We take the time to explore your history, understand your patterns, and build a complete picture because accuracy matters more than speed.
Clear answers — not vague impressions
Our commitment is to provide you with clear, actionable insights. We aim to help you understand your experiences thoroughly, offering genuine clarity rather than generic or confusing explanations. This means you will leave with a solid understanding of your situation and a path forward.
Practical information & common questions
Appointments, sessions & payment
How quickly can I get an appointment?
Appointments are usually available within a reasonable timeframe, depending on demand. We aim to offer timely access without compromising quality. If you are considering an assessment, it’s best to book early to secure a suitable slot.
How long does the assessment process take?
ADHD and ASD assessments are not completed in a single short session. The process typically includes an initial consultation, structured assessment sessions, and analysis and report preparation. The full process is thorough by design — ensuring accuracy and clarity.
How long are therapy sessions?
Standard therapy sessions last 50–60 minutes. This allows enough time to work in a structured and focused way without rushing.

How many sessions will I need?
This depends on your goals and needs. Some clients benefit from short-term, focused work, while others prefer ongoing support. The approach is flexible and tailored to you.
How does payment work?
Details regarding fees and payment methods will be discussed during your initial inquiry or consultation. We aim to be transparent about costs, and invoices are typically issued shortly after each session or as per a pre-arranged schedule for assessments.
Do you work with insurance providers?
While NeuroCompass does not directly bill insurance companies, we can provide you with detailed receipts and documentation that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement, depending on your policy. Please check with your insurance company regarding their specific requirements for psychological services.
